Amin Shabazz Muhammad was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1982 he founded Minnesota's first Hip-Hop B-Boy crew and was instrumental in promoting peace in the Twin Cities through culture rather than conflict. A community activist, martial artist, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, multi-linguist, and world traveler — he has dedicated his life to the upliftment of his people through knowledge of self. He assisted major recording artist Prince in his pursuit of spiritual and political consciousness, and has instructed many thousands more in the disciplines of martial arts, diet, language, history, culture, and self-knowledge. For over 30 years — now entering his fourth decade of practice — he has lived what others only study. What you see in his face at 57 years old is not a claim. It is a testimony.
